The Scottish Historical Rifle Championships was held at Black Dog Ranges, Aberdeen hosted by the Aberdeen Full Bore Gun Club.
The competition organisers and the competitors would like to thank AFBGC for all the work they put in to make the range available for the competition. Thanks also go to 2489Sqn ATC who did a fine job marking for the competition. We were able to thank them at the time by coaching them in shooting with classic rifles.
The day started unpromisingly with a downpour which soaked competitors and made shooting conditions very difficult. Conditions improved over the course of the day, however, and the afternoon was dry and pleasant. Shooting went on until after 4pm with 113 matches being completed by that time. Unfortunately we had to cancel the Sniper matches because of lack of time.
If any competitors stayed dry enough to take any photographs of the competition I would be very glad to put them into a picture report. Contact me on davidsquires303@aol.com if you can help.
